bonjour I havent posted in ages sorry for the delay this week we have been looking at marine habitats.

A marine habitat is a habitat that supports marine life. Marine life depends in some way on the saltwater that is in the sea. A habitat is a environmental area inhabited by one or more living species. The marine environment supports many kinds of these habitats.

We have been looking and reading into this article about marine habitats and when we read the article we noted down some key  vocab words like Biodiversity,Habitats,Biogenic,Coastal and Symbiotic those are some of the words that was in the article.

Hello welcome back its has been a while since I have last posted sorry for the long wait. For this blog i will be talking about my reading this week for treading we have been reading a lot about Elon Musk and learning about text features. but the main focus we did was about the text features. When i mean text features I mean like italics,title,bold print,caption and so much more.

Hello guys welcome back to my blog for my reading this week its has been pretty fun the create was fun and learning was fun. You might wonder what we are learning well we are learning about tower’s and like tallest building on earth.

There were two structures that we read about the first one was the Burj Kkalifa and the second one was the KVLY-mast. Some facts that I learnt about these two building was that were both the tallest building before.

 

My reading goal for this week was to

• Make connections between texts
• Identify some text events and features, and discuss what they make the reader think about.

 

For my create we had to design a tower on a goggle drawing but I decided to draw it we had to create our tower tall and see if it had some simalaraties with the ones I read about.

Welcome to my blog so this week for my writing is was a bit different form what we would do. We had a writing task board to do it had five options to chose from we had to chose three of them to do. The three task I decided to do was the fake twitter post,describe the creepy house task and the future me letter those are the three task I decided to do.

I chose one  the task to show here on my post and tell you what my goal was and then I will give you the task to look at.

i will be showing you guys the future me letter task I wrote to my future self. the goal of this task was to write in structured, well developed paragraphs that flow well from one to the next within the text. That was my goal  for my future me task.

The task I had to do was to write a letter to my future self that must include information about myself now,my age and  My current interests Your hopes and dreams for future you.

Welcome to my blog about my reading this week. So this week for our reading we read this geographical book about resourceful things and non recourceful things. So after we have read the artical we filled out this jam bored saying what we have learnt and stuff.

Our reading create for this week was to create a poster that teaches someone about a natural resource.

My learning goal for this week was to identify several ideas, discuss the author’s stance or purpose, and understand relationships in the text. 

I have learnt that one percent of the freshwater on earth is available for people on for drinking. because the other one point five percent is permanently frozen in the ice caps in Antarctica.

Hi guys I will be updating you guys on my reading that we did a little different this week. We have been doing a reading task board. the reading task board had five options of what to do. Me and my best friend Milani decided to go for a simple choice we chose to to do the history of the haka. Our goal for the haka reading task was to identify several ideas, discuss the author’s stance or purpose, and understand relationships in the text. 

 

So me and Milani had to watch a video of  the all blacks doing the haka in a rugby game. Then the rest of the slide’s showed us some of the famous haka’s that some people know, like the Ka mate Ka mate.

 

A haka isn’t just a dance Its a performance that represents the Maori culture some Maori people perform a haka for important people out of respect.

 

My create task that me and Milani did was to answer questions about the all blacks.

Hello guys Today in my blog. I will be talking about what I did in reading last week and my create.

So the book that I was reading was about Arthur Lydiard . Arthur Lydiard was a responsible for the popularity of jogging for health and fitness. He really enjoyed athletics. And he thought he was fit but when he went on a run he realised that he wasn’t. So he started to run more and more and got better and fitter. He had a method for his running which got him into the empire game marathon. Arthur Lydiard was in first place in the beginning but then fell back into 13 place. Which after he said was a poor show. Suddenly Lydaird was a demand around the world. But in 1964 he finally became the coach of the NZ athletics team. Also three of the people that Lydiard trained won medals.

 

My lerning goal was to see if I can run more like Arthur Lydiard did.

He also left a very ling legacy that people will remember.

 

That is like a little summery of some of the parts that happened in the book. So my reading create last week was to make a profile of Arthur Lydiard

For the last four weeks of Term 3 we were learning about ‘How we can be Champions on Peace’. 

 

Firstly we learnt about the different symbols of peace. Some of these are are like the CND,dove and the v sign.

 

These symbols represent peace because the CND symbol stand for Campaign  Nuclear Disarmament. The dove is also considered a peace symbol because The use of a dove as a symbol of peace originated with early Christians, who portrayed baptism accompanied by a dove, often on their sepulchres.The v sign is a signal victory by Allied nations during World War II. 

 

I have done the amazing grace task for my peace work

We also researched some real life champions of peace and wrote a short biography. I wrote about Helen Keller I thought this person was a champion of peace because she was very political and smart and she was the very first person to get a college degree. Even though she was deaf and blind.  

We also created a peace prayer book. I have attached my peace prayer book here. 

I enjoyed learning about peace because it showed me how to relax and be peaceful and calm

I learnt a lot about peace and that you can show peace in many different ways also different peace symbols. One way I plan on being a champion of peace is by trying to spread peace and being peaceful

 

So today in this science session we learnt how to make a buzzer buzz.

We used:

• salt
• spoon
• buzzer, with clips at the end
• paper clip
• a specimen container
• two measuring cups
• four nails, two zinc and two copper
• water

So the first step was to get the specimen cup and pour 2/4 of water into it. Then you would add the salt into the water and mix it with the spoon. After you mixed the salt and the water. You would experiment with the nails and paper clips. You would attach the nail to the cup with the clip that’s attached to the buzzer.

My hypothesis was that it was not going to buzz but I was wrong even though my group didn’t get it. If you get a buzz you got it right if it didn’t buzz you didn’t do it right.

The part I most enjoyed was working with my team and experimenting also using teamwork. My least favourite part was filling out the form. Overall I had a really fun time experimenting and learning more about were energy might come from.
